A Neighborhood Tech Community

Your local hub for makers, builders, and curious neighbors

Astoria Tech Alliance is a grassroots community for tech professionals, entrepreneurs, and students right here in the neighborhood. We meet up, work on projects together, help each other learn, and occasionally build things that actually help the community around us.

About Astoria Tech Alliance

We're not a startup accelerator. We're not a bootcamp. We're just a group of neighbors in Astoria who happen to love technology — and who think the best conversations happen face-to-face over coffee, a whiteboard, or a laptop.

Whether you're a senior engineer, a founder in stealth mode, a student learning your first programming language, or someone who just likes tinkering on weekends, you belong here. No gatekeeping, no cover charge, no signup fee.

Our goal is simple: create a space where the local tech community can meet, share ideas, work on things together, and maybe build something that makes the neighborhood a little better.

Who's welcome?

  • • Software engineers and developers
  • • Designers, PMs, and data folks
  • • Founders and aspiring entrepreneurs
  • • Students learning to code
  • • Hobbyists, tinkerers, and makers
  • • Curious neighbors who want to learn

If you're excited about tech and you live in or around Astoria, you're in.

What we do

We're just getting started, so we're keeping things simple: one recurring meetup every other Saturday. Over time, we hope to grow into more activities based on what members are interested in.

Saturday Meetups

Every other Saturday from 4 – 6 PM, we gather to catch up, share what we're working on, and spend time coding, learning, or just chatting with fellow neighbors.

Learn Together

Informal talks, study groups, and mentoring. Members teach what they know — from Python basics to system design — and everyone's welcome to ask questions.

Community Projects

We team up on projects that help Astoria — from local nonprofit websites to civic tools that solve real neighborhood problems.

Show & Tell

Working on a side project, startup, or something you're proud of? Bring it to a meetup and share it. No slides required — just five minutes and a friendly audience.

Got an idea for a workshop, demo night, or founder roundtable? Bring it up at a meetup — if there's interest, we'll make it happen.
